the problems start around 4500-5000. I got under the car today and tapped on the cat (bonez hi flow) and things sounded loose in the cat. This leads me to believe the cat is a good place to start.

Update, I've put a new fuel filter in it and have inspected the fuel filter in the fuel tank. Have also jumped the ecu ground and still have the problem. I plan to take it to an RX7 guy tomorrow.

Okay, who ever said it's the cat is correct. I pretty much thought it would be the cat or the secondary injectors. I had a local rotary guru take my car this morning and I just got the call that it's the cat. I am having it raplaced with a single chambered bonez and a racing beat catback. Bad news is that I hear racing beat is not going to have any catbacks for a couple of weeks! I'll keep you posted. Thanks for all of your input, guys.

Merry Christmas guys. Just an update on my car. Once the cat was found to be partially clogged, I ordered a bonez hiflow cat and racing beat cat back. Unfortunately, RB was slow to get the catback to my shop, Mazsport in Largo FL, so I had to wait nearly a month. In the mean time I had to drive my car a few more times just to get to and from work. It got to where it would just crawl down the road. I could not get more than 3k rpms out of it and 0-60 took about 5 minutes!. Thankfully, the parts arrived at Mazsport friday and the guys were nice enough to put the time into it before closing the shop for the Holidays . My car is an entirely different car. It has got fantastic performance throughout the entire rpm range and more importantly the RB catback sounds excellent. Not fartpipe-like at all. Thanks for the input guys. Now to get the top replaced and the leather seats redone.
