hits wall above 4000 rpm

runs great for like an hour or so than i cant get her above 4000 rpm satrts to bogout big time i thin some thing is getting hot wish i new wut it was1985 1st gen fully stock beside headers back and clutch she is non turbo please help have a car show in couple of weeks thannks alot arodriguez1074@gmail.com

1985? that would be a first gen and yes please list more details. If its a 2nd gen then it could be a few things like bad fuel filter, clogged secondaries, bad grounds. read this http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/grounding.htm



if its a first gen replace the fuel filter just to get it out of the way, then check fuel pressure, after that is good check your injectors if its the 13b which is FI and instead of 4 injectors like the FC (2nd gen) it only has 2 680ccs.

I know that the 86-91 13B has a "limp mode". In limp mode the engine will hit a WALL at 4000RPS's

The 84-85 13B might have the same saftey feature..
