how can i tell the difference between turbo rotors and na rotors?

 

turbo rotors will have a lower compression than N/A rotors, the weight may also be dfferent, or is that the diff between S4 and S5?

 

i need to know like markings on teh rotors so i can be sure these are turbo rotors

 

the 74-85 rotors all have 3mm apex seals, and wiegh a ton

the 86-88 rotors have 2mm seals, the cumbustion recess is left as cast, the turbo has a deeper recess than the n/a ones

the 89-91 rotors have machined cumbustion recesses. there are no markings to tell the t2 from the na, you have to compare

the 92-02 rotors have deeper rotor bearings, and crome plated apex seal grooves

S4 rotors are heavier than S5 rotors, but NA and TII rotors from the same year weight the same. They even use identical counterweights.

 

Why are you trying to find this out?

 

Aren't the rotors classified in pairs by weight as well(allowing for Mazda's factory spec balance) like A's, B's etc.

Really, I was under the impression that Mazda allowed 45 or 50 grams of im-balance in the engine, part of this imbalance being the diff. between rotors. Maybe a lettering or numbering system wasn't developed by Mazda

but I thought that what it was used for. ?
