i took the belt off my power steering awhile ago cause i broke the tension screw/nut and i wasnt to difficult to turn standing still, it was fine after 1 mph. eventually i removed the a/c and ps pump as well as its bracket and i also removed the airp pump, you also need a dual alternator pulley if you remove the air pump or your water pump may slip and really hurt your wallet, and you need the acv block off plate too.when i removed the ps pump completely it was even easier to turn than when just the belt was off,cap off all the lines and such. uhm just a word of concern about removing the ac. when you removed the high line on the firewall next to the hydraulic fluid resivoir, be sure to get away as soon as you discharge the R12 refrigerant in the system, dont breathe it in! that **** can give you cancer,go blind, basically really **** you up bad. i read some horror story of a guy breathing it in and he passed out for 3 days, just a word of caution. all in all you lose a lot of upsprung weight when you launch, id say about 80 lbs. or so. later

is finally asleep................ :bigok:

It's sprung weight, not unsprung. I got my P/S pump and A/C compressor off yesterday...I just have to worry about the P/S lines and the fact that my water pump is pissing all over the place, and I'll be in business.

I would recommand to fit a P/S line (hose) between the 2 openings of the steering rack to keep the dust from going in there. If you cap them you'll get pressure so fitting a hose would connect the input with the output.

Powerpack, I had planned on connecting those two lines to equalize pressure on the two sides of the rack.

vosko, that is part of my plan...one of these days. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
