the plugs make a hell of a differance.... the must be bone dry..... also take the top... largest vac line off front of TB,pipe the ATF in this way works the best for me, pull the egi fuse and turn the car over... the vacuum will pull ATF in do this with the plugs out.... pull in a half cup and let the car sit.....might want to remove O2 sensor.. it will get fouled ... next day turn the car over to get ATF out of the plug holes to clear the chamber.... use the old plugs to fire it up... at night.. it will smoke like a train!!! Good luck

I hope I'm preachin' to the converted, but anti-seize on the plugs is essential. Since we're talking about spark plug R&R.

my FD didn't want to start after i let it sit for 4 weeks. just had to rev it a little then all was good. my TII was SEVERLY flooded when i got it. it took 4 hours to UNFLOOD IT. i swear they emptied the whole goddamn gas tank into the engine. i did what tyson said. pulled plugs kept cranking until there was no gas coming out the tailpipes or out of the spark plug holes. you will also notice the whooshes get ALOT louder when all the gas is out of it. good luck

hey man listen i didn't read the above posts that every one answered but your having the same problem i had a week ago.

Trying to crank over the engine just make it worse...

The only way i got it started was to fully charge the battery, take out the plugs leave them out for a minute then install new clean plugs.

Trying to install the old plugs even after cleaning them to the point of new didn't work for me, but again i'm using BUR9EQ in all 4

Anyways after installing the new plugs and the battery is fully charged, crank the engine over like you would every day no leaving anything unpluged, don't press the gas as your just injecting more gas and oil every time the engine turns which there is already enough in that housing to begin with at this point. pressing the gas just injects more then the engine would on it's own

Anyways cross your fingers, knock on wood, throw a whole salt shaker over your shoulder if you have to,and crank the engine. For me it started after turning over 3 times

Your engine will smoke i'm guessing worse then you fucked an oil seal (i'm guessing here since i never blue one) lets just say if you stood behind the mufflers you won't even see your feet

anyways it should go back to normal after a few min depending on how many times you cranked it over b4 it started.

Let me know what happens

thanks for all the help guys... it looks like my previous attempts to start the car failed because iddin't get all the gasoline out of the engine.

I pulled the plugs again... pulled the EGI fuse... and cranked her over...u could see gas spraying out in a fine mist out of hte leading spark plugs holes...

A fellow rotary friend/expert came over to help...

after killing a canadian tire battery... and then buying a optima redtop battery... i finally got it to start... I jumped the optima redtop for the last couple of tries..

when i was sure the GAS was out...i put some oil in it started and then stalled at 4000 rpm... and it flooed again... AH!!! so repeat above and put even more oil in ... and it started... and damn that is a lot of smoke!

thanks for all the help everyone i appriciate it.
