ok, im looking to out either a TII or an RE into my fc. it has no motor/wiring harness or much else under the hood. i been looking around and a TII and RE's go for about the same price. but the TII comes with a tranny. but i have 2 spare TII trannys right now anyways. also, i have a set of RE mounts im not using. also, i have been told the TII ecu and coils run the RE just fine. but i have a few questions.

does the RE harness plug directly into either the s5/s4 ecu's, or is wiring needed?

do i need to rewire the coils at all?

what i have rear from a few places is that all you needs is motor mounts, and thats about it. i have never done this so i dont really know.

oh, this will be a dialy driver. all stock. AC/PS, no porting, no turbo upgrade. nothing. just daily driver.

Since no one is chiming in, I'll speculate a little.

Ive read you can run the RE with the TII harness. I doubt the Cosmo harness will plug into the TII computer. But ive never seen one intact...

I would run the TII motor if I were keeping it stock. Just because its made to be there and its bound to be easier on you in the end as far as future headaches go.

i made the same decision. even if i could put a stock RE in there for about the same price (since i have a lot of the things needed for it to go right in, including an extra LT8) a TII swap is so much easier and less of a headache. its only for a daily driver anyways. no need to drag this out over a few months rewiring and gathering other things needed. when i could get a TII running in there over the weekend.

yeah t2 swap is better, cause after that everything bolts on.

btw cosmo harness is useless, it plugs into an N390 ecu, which is different from the fc/fd

well, i already purchased the TII swap. got a fromt clip shipped to my door for 2200. when the TII swap was 1900 shipped. now i get the S5 bumper, fenders, TII hood, everything under the hood, front 5 lug, and all the RHD stuff, and more for just 300 more. sounds like an easy choice to me...
