I just installed a new radio into my GF's 7 with the Style 4 stereo which is now gonna be for sale if someone wants to make an offer. Anyway i got everything connected without using a harness and am left with just the power antenna to wire in. According to the manual the antenna is grounded to go up and im not sure, but i think the signal wire from the radio is positive. Whats happening is when i turn the radio on the antenna goes down, when i turn it off the antenna goes off. Like i said before i think the antenna is grounding out only when the power is off. Any tips of advice to get this to work besides installing a switch to operate the antenna manually.

thanks

Josh

or just rip out the power antenna. they are noisy, heavy, and stiff. just put in a cool black wire antenna. they look and work better, without the hassels of going up and down.

I dont listen to the radio so the antennea wont go up, I hate the way the car looks with it up. Just listen to CDs.

But I like for it to be operating, anything but a antennea sticking up works for me.

Thanks for the replies. I have the antenna working. I went out and bought an Auto Relay. I connected the coil to ground and signal wire then connected the two switched prongs to the antenna wire and ground. Works great.

Thanks
