Leaky Injectors

hi, okay, my car got extremely flooded, i believe the injectors are bad and are leaking....the car did start up and ran great....my question is, r there an alternative to buying new injectors? car i was checking out the prices and they are like $250...it doesn't say if that is one or all 4....i believe it is just one...can anyone help me out?

You can get them cleaned and flow tested. Try RC Engineering, it's like $25 per injector.

Yup well worth it, I have some spare injectors I could sell do you cheap....

the injectors rarely leak, its usually a vacuum leak

well its a non turbo, how would i be able to check to see if it is a vacum leak?....the car starts up fine i the mourning, but struggles when hot?

It could also be low compression.

okay...so heres the situation....i drive my car to work...starts up great in the mourning....i go to leave work like 9 hours later, it struggles to start up and i gave it some gas and it started?...so i don't think it is low compression...but i have no idea what it would be

leaky injectors plague the 2nd gens and their engines flood easily. so check ur compression and whatever else u wanna do, but if it is ur injectors...



you could install a fuel cut switch under ur dash. cut the fuel before starting it, it should turn over, if fuel has leaked in through the injectors, then as soon as it kicks, flick the fuel back on. if it doesn't start, then just try starting it with the fuel switch on.



having the fuel cut switch will also make ur carr harder to steal, cuz a theif (an incompetant one) probably won't be able to figure out how to get fuel to the engine.
