I recently purchased an install kit for my 89 turbo II to put an aftermarket radio in it. However the wiring harness doesn't have a spot for the ground. I looked in the FSM and it looks like it grounds through the antenna. Has anyone put an aftermarket radio in theirs and had this issue? I was wondering if you just ran a ground to somewhere. It origionally had the tape deck with eq. Everything else seems to be plug n play with the wiring harness just not the ground. The radio will turn on for a few sec without it but then shuts off. Thought I would ask on here before wasting time sitting in the car.

I don't know if it was correct or not (best buy install, many years ago) but mine was grounded to the metal frame around the head unit.

I will give it a try. BTW did you have the amp removed by chance or does it work with a new deck?
