I am about to put on my RB header that I got over the winter and I am ging to eliminate the main cat. My question is, how long does the test pipe need to be to reach from the back of the header to the Y-pipe? I have all of the need flanges, pipe, and gaskets to do this installation. Thanks.

Most people install both the header or downpipe and the catback and test fit. Its slightly different on each car and can change depending on the parts involved. Exhaust fitting is by no means an exact science. Just bolt the parts up, measure, check the angles for each flange, and go make a pipe. Test fit it before you do the final flange weld. I took my car (on a tow truck) to the shop with no exhaust and had a custom midpipe welded up for me. Insurance paid the tow charge.

Thanks. I dont mean to sound like an idiot, but since they sell them, I was wondering the size so that it would make it easier for me. But thanks and I will do it that way then.

The RB presilencer fits between the two-into-one header and the Y pipe. According to the RB website, the presilencer is 20 inches long.
