yea i dont plan on going around power shifting and crap.

the launches also wont be at high rpm, i think that things should survive, like you guys said, i think things will break only if i get wreckless.

carbotech pads ay? any link to them (dont feel like looking now, at work, ill look later when at home but links would be nice)

kevin.

You can do high RPM launches, just don't dump the clutch when you launch. Also stick with the stock forward diff mount. I decided to try the Mazdaspeed mount and broke two in three months. I have had the stock back in for over a year and had about 40 races with no problems from it. I have gone through a few gears though. Usually third. I am running about the same paower you want and have not broken a drivshaft or axles. I do have a ORC twin plate clutch and Mazdaspeed LSD and would highly reccomend both.

(4) MSD 6A's

Why? One you are not planning on running enough power to need the 6As, the stock coils are more than enough. You will just knock life off the engine if not blow it with these. Two, why do you need four. My tuner is running 790ps and runs three 6A's. You won't be anywhere near this.

k_flip: the ignition setup is still in question. 4 msd's was cut down to using 3 (which ive seen used on cars from 350hp and up, not just huge powered rotaries) and im now re-recondsidering the AEM C2DI ignition unit. Ive tried to focus on it but get so many different responses i figure im just going to be a guinea pig for myself. but right now its either 3 6a's or the c2di in my mind.

As for not having enough power... the car will first be tuned for 500-550hp *hopefully* Once i get accustomed to that type of power the levels will increase. I'm over-building it at this stage to leave room for even more power.

Also i wish i could afford an ORC twin plate but the car would probably be down for another year before i could get one, LMAO. The Mazdaspeed LSD unit is nice and i am trying to figure out which one to look further into, as the Kaaz has gotten great reviews from a bunch of people altho ive heard its quite loud.

treceb: Thats definitely in the capacity range i was looking for, pm me some details about it and we'll talk about it. Right now i have a 6disk sprung copper/ceramic clutch that was good but im not willing to put it into an engine when it's brand name is unknown of ("XTD")

freeman: 3mm, why? Cause they were in the motor when i opened it . As for not being a fan i was running a small t04e from an oldschool hks sport turbo upgrade package. Everything was stock except 3mm seals, walbro, exhaust, and TID mod, and TB mod. The WG flapper had exploded (without me knowing or being able to diagnose it). With those seals and that crappy fuel system the engine handle frequent trips to 15psi, with a few times of it hitting 17psi and bouncing around up there. IOn stock everything i figure it holding 17psi from a t04e means it must be strong. And of course the old motto applies...if it aint broke dont fix it. The seals never broke so i dont plan on changing them,. nevermind the fact id need new rotors.

thanks for the sign of interest guys, more updates soon, should be getting my fuel rails..FINALLY from someone on the forum (sent money in september..still no rails, long story).

rb t2 exahsut is fine for lots of power 400+

i dont think you want to go with 4.3 if anything go with 3.9 form the auto fd

was fc auto 3.9 also?

that is if you keep your gearing stock.

yes the 3.9 would be better, my friend has a 4.1, 1st gear is almost over as soon as it starts , 2nd gear lasts about 1 second, 3rd about 2.5 seconds,,

and if your not gonna power shift and bang gears to protect the drivetrain, you going to end up spending more time shifting than staying in a gear.

hmm good point on the "shifting more then driving" thing. is the 3.9 in the auto fd still a clutch-type lsd? cause im not really a fan of the s5 viscous which is mainly what im looking to rid myself of.

well the ignition system is almost finished being planned, the fuel system i just need my fuel cell (and someone has to send me my damn rails), i still have to get my housings to kahren then ship them out after theyre ported to get the ceramically recoated...etc

i WANT to finish it before july but it depends on how fast i can get all the parts and also how fast i can make a permanent plan, for example my ignition setup is up in the air but i think i FINALLY nailed it down.
