I assumed it wasnt the clutch slipping, I figured seppuku would have figured that out on his own

oh and i've never heard of a slipping clutch causing a loud bang in the rear....
took me a while to figure out when my clutch was slipping. plus i think he just got his car a while ago and learned how to drive stick recently. correct me if i am wrong seppuku. and the diff mount can be cause just from wear and tear, has nothing to do with the clutch :bigok:

Maybe its something simple, perhaps the rotors had got a coating of rust on them and when you went to move it took a sec to break free, then when it did it made a pop. I know my car sits and sometimes when I go to move it it does that, only the rears though, not the fronts.

Sometimes it only takes a night of the car sitting to get the rust on them if the conditions are right, especially if it rained and you parked the car with hot brake rotors.

Did the car drive normal after that?

So maybe it was just the rotors, keep an eye and see, I am in the habit of looking at my rotors everytime I get in the car so I dont take off too fast and maybe screw the brake pads up somehow.
