On my '88 GXL the driver side master power window control is broken and my drivers window is down and no matter what I try I can't get it to go up. Since my car is parked outside I tend to worry about the weather and theft. So I guees the first question I have with this...are there any other problems that can be causing this other than the window switch because when I find a new switch I'd like to get anything else I might need as well. Next, is there any way I can at least get the window up without the switch even if it is just a temp fix till I get a new one?

The next part is that when I shift, hit the gas hard, or let off the gas quick there is a "thunk" sound from the under the rear of my car. I have a friend who said it sounds like rear subframe and/or diff bushings but he hasn't had a chance to look at it to say for sure. So if this is the problem, do I have to go to Mazda for this or can I find these elsewhere?

Oh! One last thing (sorry lots and lots of questions), The bushings on my shifter are, I'm guessing, gone because it is SO loose so I heard the a NA Miata shifter would fit, is that true?

Thank you!

to get your windows up you need to remove the master switch, drivers door, and use a jumper wire on the correct wires to make the windows go up. im not to sure on wich color they are off hand at the moment.

rear sub , check all mounts and the lateral link bushings. also have seen a few broken ears on the diff itself

as for the shifter there is 2 differnt cups and springs, one is white the other is blue or black depending on year , i have seen both now. there only a couple of bucks and can be bought at mazdatrix.com or the dealer. but since the top one is a pain in the *** to find in the catalog just get them from mazdatrix there prolly cheaper there anyways.

Yea, what he said. and Mazdatrix.com for diff mount.

I saw someone roll up the window by taking off the panel and using a cordless drill battery right on the motor leads.
