Wtf Is Up With My Power Windows?!

The topic says it all. I took the pass. side out, rebuilt the motor, greased all the moving parts of the track, etc. and now that it's back together it goes up even slower. Is it the switch?
And is there a lighter power window mod that I can get cause that bitch weighs an ***-TON!

Mine go dog slow unless the car is running...also if I don't use them for a long time they just...crawl...especially going down...but going up is usually fine...it seems to help if I run them up and down a few times
the switches also seem to have a problem with going out or...sticking in my case...occasionally i'll blow the fuse because it gets either stuck up or down
as for a mod...I don't know of any...you might be able to scrap one off a diff model rx-7...or get some aftermarket system and rig it in there...just look around...worst that will happen is you won't find anything :P

I don't think there's any way around it...it's a stiff mecahnism and the motors are weak. I battled with the ones in my SE for years (greasing, rebuilding, new motors, new switches) and finally, when I replaced door panels, just ripped them out and went with manual. I find that I'm faster than the power windows and I rationalize the lack of power window style points by saying that it's a weight reduction mod! Sweeeeeet

Exactly what happens to mine. I've heard of a modification for the switch that worked well, but can't remember where I saw it

Take the negative return lead from the switch straight to ground. There's some screws into the floor under the panel where the switches are. This will likely halve the line resistance, giving more power to the motor.

ITS THE SWITCHES!!!!
No need to pull apart your doors. Just replace the switches or clean the contacts really good.
They are straight current, no relay, so after a long while they slowly degrade as they arc and burn out.

Glad I found this thread, but I think mine may need to be cleaned as well...
They go really really slow, and the passenger side stops before it gets to the top and you have to help it up with your hand..
Then when I was washing my car water was dripping in, not sure if it came in where the windows weren't totally up, or if the doors need new seals..
My drivers side door doesn't have the rubber/foam seal across the top, but the passenger side door seal is fine and it still leaked...not sure what caused it still..
