Hey,

'90 Vert.

I put the top down, lowered the windows all was fine. Twenty minutes into the trip, the power windows wouldn't go back up. Drove another 40 minutes to my destination.

Started car to return home, power windows still not working. Twenty minutes into the return trip windows work again.

Is this a switch or motor starting to go bad or some kind of electrical problem somewhere?

Thanks.

i would suspect the switch, although it could be something dumb like a corroded fuse

go peak underneth your driver side dash. Look near the CPU. not look near the spot where the door harness feeds through the door rubber tubing and into the interior of the car.

Look for green plug... make sure that plug is tight.

I have the same problem... turned out the plug that plugs the door harness into the interior harness was undone after 14 years. I pluged it back in... bingo

take that window switch apart, spray some electrical parts cleaner

and using a grey scotchbrite clean the hell out of the little

brass rockers in the switch and clean the 2 round contact points as well.

You can try some fine steel wool too but you had better make sure you

get it all out of there so it doesnt rust, use the syntheic steel wool, AKA scothbrite.

It was a whole new one, came up for $45.00 buy now, so I bought it. Emailed the guy first and he got right back to me so I just did the buy it now, since I was willing to pay $50 last week I figure I saved $5.00.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I have developed more serious trouble. Check Engine light, etc.
