Here are some pics of my engine apart and the damage. They are scanned and are a little shitty, sorry. I changed the color on a couple of them to eccentuate the damage.

The circled part is a groove going down the side of the rotor, probably from the chunk of apex seal that broke off.

I've seen that wear that you have along the edge of the rotor housing on alot of 2nd gen motors. supposedly it's due to the inability of the oil injection system to distribute the oil all over the housing. That's why a little premix can help out, even if you're still running the oil metering pump.

I will keep that in mind when I put it back together.

Running a little 2 cycle oil in your gas can help fight against that.

Everyone always says that it's a pain to premix, but it only takes a couple of minutes to do. I've also heard people complain about premixed motors looking dry inside, but I think that's because there aren't a whole bunch of carbon deposits left behind.

there are no negative affects of premixing except it reduces octane right ?

Yeah, but that's negligible. You're mixing at ratios close to 100:1. So the premix couldn't affect it that much. I'm sure there's a formula you can use to figure it out.
