The reason I ask is if it doesn't increase the proportional limit or the yeild point then it is only going to keep it from breaking, or increase the ultimate strength. If it only increases the ultimate strength than it doesn't seem that worthwhile considering that the yeild point would still be the same, so if you go over the yeild point whatever thing you have will be out of spec. While it would be nice that it could handle a greater force you wouldn't want to raise the working stress limit cause you risk permanently deforming the object.
Do you guys want me to make a thread for when I do my buildup? It's going to be a PP turbo, with much aide from Banzai.

Cryo freezing doesn't do jack all. Only good it does it cleans any biological agents off the part without affecting the temper/heat treament of the part. THe phase transitions stop at around 100C, almost nothing happens below that temp.

Spent the evening at SDJ dropping off the ring and pinion. Gleened a lot of info from Stan. Verified the parts I needed to order from mazdacomp with him. Diff will be ready next week. We had a long and lengthy discussion on vrious coatings and the pros and cons of each.
Btw, the Cryo was not the primary treatment. But the shop I use packages it with another coating service.

Today I had an informative conversation with Mr. Hanover, and commenced to redesigning the intake. Cup of tea, some kick *** music from SIRRIUS on the Shop Surround sound system, a quick trip over to the bandsaw..........and VIOLA`
The beginnings of the new intake. This will give me the ability to vary the length of the runners very easily!!!
This was only the first mock-up so everything is taped and squee-jawed into approximate positions.

That one is mild steel, for mock-up purposes. Cheaper to hack up for experiments. The AL will come from burns or the place in MI
