I am reposting cause I got problems and no answers. I changed my spark plugs this weekend and discovered a ton of oil in rear rotor hosing. T2 plug was oily but the L2 plug was soaked. I am thinking it is an oil control ring. Has anyone ever driven their seven with blown oil control rings? As long as I keep the proper amount of oil in the engine will I do any damage to it for the time being? Or will it just burn a lot of oil? Also will a little ATF or MMO (Marvel's Mystery Oil) in the oil help condition the ring or at least buy me some time? I knew I was gonna rebuild the 13b but I did not wanna get into it this fall or winter...

From what I've gathered, I have bad oil control rings. Mine run great, after you burn all the oil off the plugs first thing in the morning and when I leave for work. I've put 2000 miles on mine and the only thing I have to do is make sure theres oil in it. I put about 1 qt in it a week. Does yours smoke alot on a fresh startup? Mine smokes so ******' bad you can't see behind the car for 1 mile. No BS, its bad. So far, so good.

The thing that spooks me is it does not smoke that bad at all but there was a TON of oil in there. Those two things dont add up to me unless there was nothing going on at all in the rear rotor housing. Which I think I would know if I had a dead rotor.

Thanx for the info. I wanted to hear from someone first hand who has had this problem. No theoretical BS but facts.

By the way why do you think I am not getting that much smoke? And wouldn't I notice if I have a dead rotor? Unless I was just really unobservant. I mean it's not like I have driven this car around other than in the parking lot. It has not been out of 1st gear. I have no title and I can't risk getting a stupid ticket/fine right now. And I cannot say I have diagnosed the ingition system to see if it is firing cause it sounds like it is and runs reltaively good for a car that sat for 3 years. Let me know what you all think.

Actually, I have no idea why your not getting smoke. BUT, when I bought mine 3 months ago, it didn't smoke either. It started smoking about 2 weeks later and alot of driving. And when I changed my plugs they were black as ****, but not soaked.

And if you had a dead rotor, yes, you would know it. The car would run (well, my old GXL would) REALLY shitty. You would have to keep the pedal floored just to get it to idle.

If you can, get a compression check. And check your plugs (the ones with all the oil on them) and see if theyre firing.

Cant get a title? You need to be drivin' man!!!

I hope to have a title by spring/summer so I can go to Deals Gap. 318 turns in 11 miles check the General Discussion there is a map and some lynx https://www.nopistons.com/forums/ind...howtopic=29773

In the mean time I will keep throwing cash down her throat. I got another 13b lined up for $100.00 at a boneyard here. If I cannot get a title for it I will just drag it until it dies. I will make it a fixture at the local drag strip until it will not even turn over.
