now im getting pissed...

well, i found the o-rings in a bag i have full of parts i havnt used from previous rebuilds. so i take everything apart and start trying to get out the diffusers. those damn things are really in there! so i try and bend this really small piece of metal and make it hook like to pull the diffuser upwards. and the damn metal piece breaks dropping itself into the manifold!!! DAMN IT!!!! remember this motor is all stock. so i now had to remove all the stock heat shields from the turbo. remove the turbo and manifold. and then the intake manifold. what a son of a bitch. its been a while since i had to deal with all the stock ****. i never found that metal thing either. and i still cant get those damn diffusers out!!!
any tips on getting them out? im pretty sure im going to have to replace them now anyways. im pretty sure i messed them both up trying to remove them.
but since i now have all this off. i will be port matching and polishing the lower manifold all the way through. i just ordered some longer shanks to get deeper into the manifold. but the longest one i found was only 4 inchs. anyone know where to get longer shanks to get all the way into the runner for polishing? or maybe a flexible one to get the curve???
i also will be porting the wastgate and stock turbo manifold. i was going to try and make a stock replacement tubular one, but its so compact i couldnt really see how i would do this...
so, just trying to fix a vacuum leak, i wound up tearing everything down and improving upon the stockness once again. this should be one peppy little stock motor when all is said and done...

i have a little pick tool that KIA sent us back in the day, that works great.
have you tried a magnet?

He was probably suggesting a magnet to find your "hook." You really, really, really need to find that before you try to start the engine. Trust me on that.
On the air bleeds, to remove them:
*Secondaries - I removed my uim (n/a for me), put some atf (dex/merc 3) down the cyclinder for the air sockets and pressed them out from the inside of the uim with my thumb. (Had to work them a little bit with my thumb)
*Primaries - [uim already removed] same as above, a little dex/merc down the air socket cylinders and pressed them up and out of the middle iron with my index finger.
Hope that helps some

on the turbo intake manifolds, you cannot reach them by hand. i dont think im going to reinstall the lower part anyway. a diffuser for the injector is not really needed there. just the upper part with the o-rings to seal the air.
and the manifolds are completely removed. its not in the runners of the motor itself, so it most likely fell out onto the floor while removing the manifold.

called autozone and discount auto. i hate people that work in auto parts stores. i tryed explaing to them what it is, and it got no where. then i got put on hold, and they never returned to the phone. not the first time thats happened...
does anyone have a part number for the seconday airbleeds from autozone or discount?
and the part number for the grommets and o-rings for the injectors also?
might as well replace them also while im doing all this...

not having any serious problems. even on the Mazdatrix website it says that the airbleeds break almost everytime they are removed. so thats normal. and the other problem was just me bing stupid and dropping something down there...
other than that. nothing serious. just finding air leaks. now its easier with the pressure tester...
plus its not really a build. the car is (was) complete. just had a bouncing idle. but since i took all the manifolds off, i thought i would ort and polish all the manifolds. so im making take longer than it should...
