new guy with a questions

hi everbody,
i am an Air Force veteran previously stationed in Nebraska where i bought my 1988 gxl (with blue leather interior and factory cd player), Now that im out and back in Los Angeles i actually have the time and resources to work on my gxl. My goal is to keep it for comutes and maybe buying a tII later and moding it for the weekends and the track
i have been searching for days trying to figure out the diff gearing for the 1988 gtu and i have not been able to find an answer. I have heard it is 4.30 from some and 4.10 from others, i know the s5 gtus has 4.30 but im not sure about the s4 gtu

According to my '88 shop manual, the manual trans models had a 4.10 gear, while the auto trans models had a 3.909. I believe the 4.30 gears were applied only to the S5 GTUs, which is a fairly rare bird.
So to clarify, none of the '88 models had the 4.30 gear, as far as I know.
