I can't find my Haynes manual, and I'm on my in-laws computer right now, which does have Adobe Acrobat with which to download the FSM. If I try to download Adobe, it takes over an hour (tying up the phone line).

So this is what I need:



Either a link to a website that has the FSM in a non-PDF format, or



torque values for 3 bolts holding on rear toe control hubs, and the axle nut

 

They're pretty high, like 75-100 ft-lbs. The axle nut is like 230 ft-lbs. so just attach your breaker bar and stomp on it untill it really just wont move anymore. Oh, and if you're re-using the axle spindle nuts (you can get new ones at PepBoys for like $5 a piece), remember to switch the one that was on the left to the right and vice versa, so you can notch them in at a different spot.

That's why you need to invest in a good long-arm breaker bar, and make a cheater bar too (2 foot length of pipe that will fit over the handle). You'll no longer use your valuable ratchets (or even worse, your torque wrench ) for heavy work

 

Or buy Craftsman rackets, so when they break you can take them back and get them replaced.

 

I hate driving 30 minutes each way in traffic, parking, walking in, fighting the yuppie skum, all that crap just so I can go back to wrenching. I'd rather get the job done with the right tools (except for big-*** screwdrivers, they can do anything )

Anyways, my Craftsman ratchets break enough on normal stuff, I wouldn't even get them near a 30mm pinion flange nut or something like that (they'd break just from the proximity).

 

I'm gonna get a crafstman, and I have a "cheater bar."



I'm a cheap bastard, and I don't mind going to Sears. I'm used to making several trips to stores for one simple task, we call it the "Keeney Luck," it's kinda like the Vosko curse.

 

i always take note of special tools i need way ahead of time and go browsing at sears often, if i happen to see something and it's not too expensive or just on sale ill grab it knowing eventually ill need it and itll save me a trip.



ive made quite a collection doing that lol. my next purchase is this cool tool for the rear single piston brakes on my car, you cant push the piston in you have to turn it, on frestyle's i used an open-end wrench and vise grips, it wasnt fun. so im gonna buy the tool for $5 which attaches to a 3/8" ratchet and make my future brake job 10x easier .
