i took my s4 to a shop today to get my tranny mounts, diff mounts at the back (big circular mounts) and the large block mount in the front of the diff replaced. i supplied all the parts for the job. i called them this afternoon to find out how much this work should cost and they said it's going to be about 900 something! does this sound accurate to you guys? i was shocked, that price sounds like its an all day job. please let me know what you think!

Do the work yourself if you can? I would never send a vehicle to a shop unless it is suspension, a tune up, alignments, etc.

Ask how long it took to do, and if it seems like bullshit, give the manager a peice of ya mind.

thats not too terribly out of line if they are replacing all 3 diff mounts. To replace the 2 pressed in mounts means they have to actually pull the diff out, press the bushings out and press the new ones in. Thats a pretty big job actually.....

Tranny mounts should be about 2 - 3 "shop" hours.

Front diff mount should be about another 2 "shop" hours.

The rear / top diff mounts are a whole nother ball game, and I wouldn't be surprised if this job solely came out to around 4 - 5 "shop" hours or more.

So you're looking at about 10 "shop" hours times their shop rate...

$900+ doesn't surprise me.
