Thumbs up

OK, i have an 87 TII. Last time when i changed the oil i noticed my front crosmember was coated in oil which seemed to be pretty fresh. Then, when i changed the oil it reaked of gasoline. it was so bad that whenever i went in my garage the next couple days i would nearly pass out from the fumes. I had recently changed the plugs and it was runing well but they seemed to have fouled very very quickly as in within 500 miles. I do not know what is going on and I am at school right now but i will get back thursday and i will take a bunch of pictures for everybody to see cause i am sure that will help. Right now i am pretty perplexed as to what the problem is. i am thinking i has to do with either one of the oil cooler lines or something on one of the housings. There is a lot of, "gunk" on the right side of the engine bay near the plugs and such but i have a feeling that could jsut be power steering fluid.

well fuel in the oil is kinda normal for a turbo car, how often is it changed?

as for the oil leak it can be a lot of stuff. the oil pan, oil cooler lines, front crank seal; you need to clean it off and try and see where its coming from

thanks, i have a wrx also and i never have any fuel smell in the oil on that car. I change the oil every 2k and the previous owner had had the oil changed recently before i purchased it. I am in the process of cleaning the entire thing out so we will see if that helps to diagnose it. I appreciate the help though.

rx-7's seem to do many things. Some will make you mad some will make you love them.I love the sound of 8000rpm thru a tunnel myself. That spine tingly noise is great.

i had the same thing (oil gunk and ****) on the right side of the engine, it was the oil metering pump, leaking a lot of oil so i ditched it(thanks to mike for the help)

youll have to make a custom block off plate if you plan to do that, also youll have to run premix, exclusively :bigok:
