N00b Here Couple Of Questions

whats up guys? just wanted to introduce myself before i start posting the mandatory new guy questions (after i read the FAQ's obviously)
my name is Tyler Robles and i just got my first rotary two days ago. it is a 1990 Rx-7 GRU. super clean for a 13 year old car. i know VERY little about rotaries but that is why i am here--to learn. i also own a 2002 saturn SC-2 that is HIGHLY modified. it spits out 302hp and 320ftlbs to the wheels when it is working right. that is actually the reason that i got the rx-7. i would like to use it as a daily driver and maybe do a little drifting with it. it has a couple of problems though, it smokes like crazy when it is cold but runs fine after it is warm. is there a place on this site when i can read how rotaries work (preferably something with pictures). i know APEX seals on these things have a nice little tendency to fail, but i have no idea what an apex seal is or what it looks like. so i guess any info would be greatly appreciated.

Smoke is probably either coolant or oil seals. Think of apex seals as piston rings, not like gaskets.

SWEET. those links were VERY informative. so now tht i know how this stuff works, is there anything that i should be looking for in this year car that could give me some trouble? like on the older satties, at about 60k miles, replace the alternator. the rx-7 has about 147k on it, but has a brand new tranny, and the owner took really good care of it. also, what would it take to throw some boost at this thing?

you'll want to do some research on the differences in the n/a to the tII blocks tho
compression differences 6ports vs 4 ports ect...
