Also does anyone know where i can buy the metal thing on the shifter mine was desinigrated when i took the shifter out and mazdatrix has a picture of it but no lisiting.

I have been using the S4 & S5 shifters in either tranny for years, the only differences I have ever found are inconsequential.

Eg, the shift **** threads are different (change your **** man).

The S5 has a plastic insert in the guide pin slot (the slot in the S4 is identical just has no plastic).

The S5 has a big floppy rubber mounted top section (doesnt hurt anything, may make it difficult to get an S4 shifter boot over it, but is easy to work around).

I prefer to use the S4 shifters for the short shifters I build and I have installed these kits in S4 and S5 and turbo cars.
