Aight well I know this is nopiston.com but i figured what the hell, I own a 90 1g FWD DSM which has broken down on me once again except this time i have a feeling that something might of gone really bad with the internals this time. Think i spun a Bearing\killed oil pump. If i spun a bearing i know that while i have it apart i would deck, bore, align hone, you know basically making it like new again. this would cost me close to $2k or so maybe a lil more. BUT i was thinking if not should i say the hell with the fwd DSM and just use it for parts on my other AWD DSM build and get myself a RX-7. Which leads to why i need everyones opinion on how much is it for a decent RX-7 Turbo II, so i know how much to save. I would use it as my DD and hook it up lil by lil. Just in case ur wondering why i don't check the car out first, i really can't becuz my ribs are broken thanx to some lil skateboarder who got in my way while i was skating some lil dumbass rail. It sucks to do stuff with broken ribs! Oh and to top stuff off i'm still unemployed and waiting for that extension of unemployment.

If you're a little short on cash, one of the last cars I'd be looking for is a Turbo II. A daily driver should be reliable, cheap to maintain, and obviously very good on gas. The T2 is unlikely to meet any of these criteria. That's my 2 cents.

Honestly, when you can pick up a cheap, reliable, easy-to-fix beater DD, like an Escort, Cavalier, Neon or similar, a TII is definately not the right choice. These cars are a dime a dozen- and if you go back to the mid-90's ones, even cheaper. Engines and parts are cheap and plentiful in junkyards if you end up needing one, not to mention you can get almost any part you need *new* at the local AutoPwn.

Well right now i don't really have money, which is true but i'm pretty sure i'm getting the unemployemt checks which would come close to $4k. If not i'm lucky and get a job that's close and i don't need a car to get to work and i can save $ for a car. I'm pretty picky with cars which is why don't get any beater. I want to drive something with potential is kind fun atleast. My first car is my fwd dsm turbo so that's why i want something turbo that's close to it and i feel the TurboII is perfect since i love to also get into rotaries. Plus owning my dsm for like five yrs i'm use to it breaking down so i don't know if the Turbo II could be any worse. Some guy i use to work with is a big rotary guy and he said most Turbo II go for $3-5k.

My boys are always talking **** about DSMs and Rotaries, which is also another reason i want to shut them down. They're all Honda guys.

I shut them up by owning a Honda.
