is there a cheaper option that would sound just as good as rb, or at least not horrible as stock? I don't like the idea of spending more on mufflers alone than on anything else

well if it makes you feel any better the racing beat mufflers are half the price of stock ones

I put a want ad in the proper section, hopefully something will come up...I'm all about the discounts...plus, if it's cheaper, I can convince my wife that it's something I need, not something I want

would it sound like *** if I got an off-the-shelf one from discount auto parts or pep boys? i'm more interested in power than good looks or nice tone

the RB mufflers are full stainless..(i think) so they will be the last mufflers you will buy...if not get stainless mufflers (tell your wife that they give the car better gas milage so you are saving money in the long run)
