I'm in the process of obtaining a used RB header and precat. Here's my question: how different is the rb y-pipe and the stock y-pipe? on the rb website, it says theirs is slightly larger in diameter, but it doesn't specify. they also said their y-pipe is the same as the tII, so how different are they? and would it be worth it to try and find a used tII y-pipe? I've read that it's usually best to have an all-rb system for sound and performance. how waranted are these claims?

thats a couple of good questions. ypipe: i know when you buy a new one from mazda you always get a turbo one, the rb one is supposed to be bigger, but it still bolts on so it cant be hugely bigger. so i dont think your y pipe is gonna be all that different from a factory one.

Personally I don't like the single on the FC. Just looks misbalanced, especially since there's an extra hump with no muffler in it. Maybe that's just me, but I think double looks much better.

i dont dislike the single, but the fc is the only rx7 to have duals and i felt (this exhaust anyways) to keep the uniquely fc thing

I feel the same way, with the gaping hole...plus it's easier to keep it dual, no extra work to do...what's the recommended muffler with this setup?

additionally, I'm under the impression that a racing beat header, with a presilencer welded on, will replace the cats...is this just for the precats, or all? or am I way off base?
