79 and 80 mph trap speeds!?... its your clutch, 6-ports arent working and check your VDI... if anyhting zip tie your sleeves and vdi open and see if that helps your top end power...

also check your timing

I fairly new to rotary engines, but do rx7 run a little rich than a pistons engine? my car seems to run rich i just got the car and have nit picking at it trying to get it up to par. When i launched at the track i tried three different techniques for launching and i got to run three times. The first i launched at around 3 to 4 thounsand and i did a 17.1 second i timed the light and did a burn out that caught the light perfectly and did a 17.2. The last run i tried to warm up my tires with a burn out and tried the same method as before and i ran a 17.3 i thought stock e.t.'s on a gtus was about 15.8 i realize this is a professional driver but is this information true

Dude, you cant be this bad of a driver.. what was your MPH in the 1/4 this time? I'm telling you, if it's still 79 or low 80's, something is not right with that car.

Yes, they tend to run a little rich. Yes, you can easily do the timing yourself with a light.
