Unhappy

does anyone else have this problem? It runs fine sometimes, then sometimes it has maybe 30-40% less power. The engine has about 50k and has been doing this for a while. starting to drive me mad, must play GT3 to calm down.

Maybe a boost leak, or possibly a turbo on its way out?

3k rpm stumble? or does that only *** up n/a's?

but yea, prolley yer turbo dying. owner before you probably rode it hard. i mean who would sell an '88 rex with less than 50k miles? HE KNEW he rode the sh*t out of it. get a new turbo and put a turbo timer on it. then give the car to me....

Unfourtunately only the engine has 50k, the rest of the car (including the turbo) has much more. the turbo seems to spin fairly well and the manifold is new(ouch$$$) and idles well too

How much boost are you making? Do you have catalytic converters?

i usually get about 5 psi or so, have a bonez precat replace ment down pipe, no main cat as of recently, and an apexi dunk megaphone cat-back.which makes me wonder why i dont get more boost. it gets about 14 mpg around town but i dont know if this is normal or not.

Check your intercooler hoses for any leaks, and make sure they're tight. Does the turbo smoke at all?

if it does smoke, make sure its the good sh*t, like hydro. if its getting its stash from a shady mexican, you can be certain its mostly spanish moss.
