From what I've read on the rx7, the idle on first startup should be 3000 rpm then it lowers to 1500 rpm for awhile then to 700rpm where it stays. Well mine in the morning goes to 1500 rpm and stays there until I've driven around for a long time (like no less than a half hour). I've adjusted my tps with my multi meter the way they want in the FSM. Do they all take that long?

another idle question: mine is usually anywhere between 1100 and 700 rpm, which is fine. but when i've been driving the car and come to a stop, the car idles at around 1500. i haven't really worried about it too much. the guy i regularly take it to test drives it all the time and mentions everything he notices to me, and he hasn't said anything about it. the only mods i have on it so far are the dual pulley, blockoff plate, and new exhaust...plus some wires were replaced. any thoughts?

theres an faq thread on this i think, its got more detail.

the 1500 rpm cold idle, is controlled by the thermowax, which is the thing in the throttle body that the coolant runs thru, it basically pushes the throttle plate open manually. it is adjustable for both rpm and the length of time it stays on. if the coolant hoses are plugged up, or the thermostat is stuck open it will also stay on too long. if its just slightly out of adjustment it can pop on and pop back off
