my 7 Idles fine during and after warmup but sometimes I'll take off almost stalling it by not giving it enough gas(bad habbit I picked up driving driving my old car to save the gas) but then I'll come to a stop and the car idles at around 250.....yes 250 and wants to keep doing that ..this continues until I turn off the car and start it up again...



now my question is.......

is this......

A) a correctable problem

OR

B) should my dumb @$$ not take off like that

what year and model car do you have? if its an 89+ you can check the codes and see if you find any. there's a tutorial on www.1300cc.com ...also, is the car n/a or turbo? if its n/a there is an idle adjustment screw on top of the intake manifold (right where its engraved 13B INJECTION on the top)...if its turbo you can try turning the BAC screw and see if that turns it up a bit.



could be your crank angle sensor is bad...that might cause a low idle like that. is it ALWAYS low once warmed up? or does it just drop that low occasionally when sitting at an intersection for a few seconds?

 

have u modded ur car? or changed anything.....

 

ok here it is....unmodded 87 sport 5 speed and the car somedays will do it and other days it won't ........

and it'll do it after the warm up only.....but like I said ...somedays it'll do it and somedays it won't.
