What would be your dream car to drop a rotary into
#1
I have been looking around lately and been thinking about cars to put rotarys into.
Just as I am writign this I just picked up my Dads 88 Mitsibishi Cordia. It is a 5 spd car and needs a new motor. So just as I am writing this it got me to thinking about dropping a rotary in that car. The car is so insanely light that it would be fricking fast!!! The tunnel is already there for rear wheel drive. Plus it had a solid axle in back with a bit of work to the tunnel for the driveshaft a 5 spd will fit in and if I am good it will probably fit in using all of the stock interior parts. But if you guys had a car to drop a rotary into what would it be?
Metro? Aspire? McClaren? Lambo? Dematso Pantera? Fiat? MR2? Camaro?
Also my dads car is powered by a 1.8 carbed 4 cylinder. Funny thing is that I know them motor makes no power even new but that car when it ran could get up pretty good. Damn this has me thinking rotary now......
Damn that could be fun.........
Ok but anyway I want to hear what you guys would pick. I know a fair amount about the domestic cars. But several of you guys know of cars we dont even see or hear about over here in the states. So let me hear your opinions and ideas on this and the topic of putting a Non piston into my dads car!

lets see.
Of course id like to have an old beetle with one. A mini cooper would be sweet. a samurai. a bubble back. a 3 rotor vette just to show all them vette guys whats up. or a fiat 600. small as hell, rear engined which means you can bolt on a vw engine. and if you can fit a vw engine, you can most definately fit a rotary. and a ford anglia.

I'd take a Lotus Elise with a 13BT. 200hp+ would make one of those little poopsters go like a raped ape. I read about one that had an Integra Type R engine and tranny stuffed in it, and it apparently scooted fairly nicely. However, I'm a bit partial to the rotor-motor, myself.
Cripes, I think I'd just take the Elise STOCK. Too bad they aren't street legal...
Barring an Elise, I'd love to see a decently converted rotary Miata. I can only imagine my dad's 2001 Miata LS with the sort of power a rotary could give it.
Which reminds me... My dad's buddy who owns a 1994 Miata keeps claiming that he'd whoop my butt in a race. I keep telling him to put his money where his mouth is, but he just scoffs.

I think a Convertable lightweight 13B powered car would be awesome. Something like this Spitfire
Then again my Suzuki Sidekick was a perfect match. My only regret ... okay well maybe 2. I could have kept my 4 wheel drive and I used a Turbo motor.
ROTARY POWER! YAH
