Ive got an 87 GXL and my clutch is going on me. I want to get an upgraded clutch and fly wheel. What would be a good one for my car? Also my shifter is really really loose. There is too mush play in it when Im in gear. I think I need some new bushings. Is this my problem? If it is where can I get some bushings for my car for a reasonable amount of money?

I've heard that an '89 on up pressure plate and clutch disk provide more clamping force than you stock setup, or a centerforce pressure plate, but still use an '89 on up stock disk. That is definetly a bushing problem, get them from a local mazda dealership. Don't forget the new throw out and pilot shaft bearings as well

You also might want to get the lower shift boot. These seem to wear out just as frequently. This will help: http://www.rx7world.com/ht1.htm
