I bought an engine on the 21st of june.. and the whieteboy said it was turbo.. but it wasnt..



It brought the turbo, but not the manifold. (brought it in my hand)



Long story short, I paid 600.00 for engine and transmission.. I thought it was a deal.. so i bought it quick!



The guy had the long block on a hoist with intake manifold of an T2 but then after i brought it home, It was th short block of an N/A..



I had a couple of my friends come over and take another look.. and it looks like that is what he did.



I'm still not 100.00% sure if its not.. but i think he jeepped me..



the transmission he gave me was also an N/A transmission..



The guy is selling a Nice looking FC, So i have told him im going to buy that one, that way he shows up to get the money and then



Im going to hit him face to face with the scam.. I dont know what i should do to him.. beat him or talk fair.. i hate scammers..



I was also selling the car project.. going to ask mod to remove the FS post..

Ask yourself: What do I hope to accomplish when I see this guy?



If you want some jail time, go ahead and assault him. It might make you feel better, but its not likely to get your money back.

I don't want to "blame the victim", but it seems to me that you should be able to verify that the engine is turbo or n/a before you hand over your money. You say you're still not 100%. I'd be 100% before I started talking about punching somebody out.



A character named Norm on an old TV show said "It's a dog-eat-dog world, and I'm wearing milk-bone underpants." There are people in this world that plunk down $50,000 for a car the seller claims is "an original Whathaveyou Super Sport with a big block" and they later find out that its not. Don't be one of them. Educate yourself.



If the guy is decent and it turns out that the engine is n/a, he might give you your money back, but I wouldn't count on it. Maybe the guy that sold it to him told him it was turbo and he doesn't know any more about it than you do. As life lessons go, $600 is a pretty cheap one.

First of all the old saying,"If its too good to be true, it probably IS," comes to mind after reading this. There is absolutely no way anyone would sell you a decent TII engine/tranny combo for $600. Let me ask you this...did he say it came out of his car? (I'm just asking because maybe HE bought it from someone else too and doesnt know it wasnt a 4 port engine>?)

Sounds fishy but I would calmly explain to him the problem and see what he says, and how he reacts before I commit an assault and battery.

sorry to hear that but it boils down to your word vs his.. and sadly that doesnt go very far expecially since the transaction has already been made.. buyer beware is what they will say.. hopefully the guy is nice and refunds your money and admits it was a mistake.



plus that it sounds like maybe the guy thought it was a t2 block, cause if he is selling a car and doesnt seem worried about seeing you again.. chances are hes gunna be like huh when you tell him.. id talk to him and see what happens..

I Went to his house with my buddy today.. he opened the door and i told him that the engine that he had sold me was non turbo.. he said, yes it is.. It was in my turbo car.. i told him i wanted my money back and then he said, well, i can write you a check.. and i said.. no i want my cash money back. then he kept pasting and said..



Come back at 2, i'll have you money then.. i can't leave my house now because my gf and the baby are here. and i said.. well, leave the baby with your GF and lets go to the bank.. He said.. the bank is closed.. i said, Thats why i dont want a check.. he said well.. I'll call my mother and get the money from her.. and i said ok.. lets go get the money at your mothers.. and he said



You want to drive all the way (some were far) and i said.. heck no.. and then i said.. if you write the check.. give me your license to hold.



He refused, and i said.. then that means your check is going to bounce.. so no..



he kept pasting for like another 7 mins.. and then he came back and told me.. come back later.. i'll have the money at 2 and tried to close the door.. then I pushed the door in.. and said.. no,no no.. i want my money dude..



Then he pasted some more.. he went to his room and put a shirt on.. and then i said "are we leaving?" his like yeah .. just waiting for my boy"



Then 5 mins later.. the cops show up.!.. two cops come in 2 cars.. and started asking questions as usual.. then i explained what had happend.. then the cop said.. There is nothing we can do since this is a civil matter.. do you have any proof that he sold you the motor.. "im like no" and then they said.. well we are here to keep the peace.. so you guys have to come to some agreement.. then i told the guy to write the check and write his license # on it in front of the officer.. and he said..



no.. u didnt want the check.. so now you gonna have to wait till i have the cash on Friday!! im like WTF!..



The cop was there saying.. well, there is nothing we can do.. we cant take sides..you goiing to have to come back on friday.. blah blah blah..



then i asked the guy, ok.. what time on friday.. and he said "call me on thurday to let you know" WTF!!..



and i said.. you scammer, how do i know u are still going to be here on friday? the cop then answered, "his been living here for years, his not just going to leave.. "



Uhh.. i wanted to .. uhhh!!.. but then again.. i'm doing things the right way.



but, im thinking he is going to pay me.. because if he doesnt.. hummmm.. its going to get ruff. ruff. ruff.

1. Before buying a motor, find out what it should look like! You can't just take the sellers word for it, then whine about it later when you find out you got ripped off.



2. Sounds like the guy WAS trying to make good for you, but you ruined it by acting like a tough guy. What did you expect him to do, whip $600 out of his own ***? ****, if someone shoved my door in like that with my wife and baby home, I wouldn't be calling the cops, I'd be shooting you and claiming castle doctrine.





I doubt you'll get your money. Expect him to call the cops again the moment you set foot on his property. Cut your losses, call it a lesson learned.
