Ok i have a 91 non turbo rx 7. I have intake, exhaust, and a header on it. what should i do next to bump the horsepower up more? I dont want to do a turbo swap. let me know thanks. How much horsepower do you think i am pushing with those mods. stock i have 160. I hear that a header adds significantly more. I am thinking around 180 right now. let me know thanks

Intake is good, get more air in.

Header is good, gasses out of motor quicker.

Exhaust is good, gasses out the back quicker with no restrictions.

Now you need to get more gas in, so get bigger injectors. When the motor get openned up get it ported.

That will get you more power.

well i just put the motor in so therfore i'm not ripping it out again to street port it. I am just looking for external engine components. Injectors are good, but what kind and size to get? i am trying not to spend alot of money. Are there any other low budget mods for external motor? I am going to remove the main cat as well and put a presilencer on. Can you guys tell me how much horsepower i am looking at as of now? thanks for the advice

I wouldn't go with the injectors just yet. Or at least go to a dyno to see if you even need to adjust anything fuel wise. The next thing I can think of would be ignition. Upgrade plugs & wires and a MSD box (or 2 depending) and see what that does.

Pineapple sleeves, ignition upgrade, then tune car with the help of a dyno.

Any HP gain at this point is irrelevant, not enough to make that much a difference

mazdaracing.com has dyno tested their street pulley setup, it gave them 10hp and 8ft/lbs to the wheels and a lot smoother torque and power curve on a s4 n/a with ps and a/c. I think they still have them up on their site.

I had them on my n/a and they are a quality piece.

yeah i was going to say find free HP, remove emissions if your state will allow it, underdrive (sorry, not free) whatever you can, advance your timing a bit, and find a rearend with a better ratio

When I had my NA FC, I swear the best mod I ever did to it was install an ACT HDSS clutch. What's the sense in making more power if you can put it all down?
