ok, the differential has a "LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL" tag on the plug. the steering wheel is a three spoke with horn and "MAZDA" text in the center.

okay, i can now sleep easily tonight. the vin number does begin with "jm1fc322..."
i now have a genuine turbo II, only if i had a little more patience when i comes to fixing it up. Such is life, just have to wait till christmas break and next summer.
