Well, I have one smokey rx-7. blue smoke that is.. I know my turbo is still leaking externally (i'm waiting for new gaskets from mazda) I've had my oil feed line reduced to .064" hole. He wants it down to a .046" now since it's still leaking. the problem is.. I'm getting alot of blue in the exhaust. I'm wondering if it's the motor.. or if it's just the turbo is **** and this is causing my lovely blue smoke issue.

it's on a server that's connected with a dsl so don't expect ground breaking speeds. it's only 3mb. feel free to view it... insight would be lovely. I'm getting real close to wanting to remove the turbo and send it back to have the cartridge rebuilt. I just think that's where my oil problems are from.

I only have like 20 miles on this motor.. so i don't dare try to boost on the turbo to just see if it'll build. The times that i stepped down the gas a little the stock gauge didn't even come close to going equal pressure (i'm not trusting my blitz gauge i think i got sold a shatty gauge it stuck on .5bar when the motor isn't on..its mechanical so i'm guessing it's ****)

If you leave the car running- at idle- does the smoke go away after the cars warmed up?? If so, it's just your turbo leaking oil and burning it off during warm up. If not, you could have bigger problems.

BTW- nice T2

eh.. it smokes.. probably all the time..

it's a new motor and turbo so i figure before i jump to any big conclusions i need to run the car for awhile (to get all the lovely assembly lube and oil out of the combustion chamber)

I'm just hoping it's the turbo since that has warranty

it'd be alot nicer of a T2 if it didn't smoke but thanks.. it's been an interesting tempermental car so far

My old TII used to smoke like a mo fo after the jspec swap. When it warmed up it would smoke up the whole street. The crankcase ventilation wasn't ventiating anymore and there was a seal that only holds pressure in one direction, I forgot the nam,e of it and that leaked the oil b/c. After I unclogged it everything was gravey. It was pretty funny, everyonce in a while someone would be honking their horn like mad and then when I'd look back they'd be like "you car's on fire!!!' or something like that.

I'll look tomarrow. The garage is.. well it stinks really bad right now

BNR just tells me to keep reducing my turbo oil feed line.. guess it won't hurt I'll do it one more time then I give up and it goes back to him.

45 miles down.. 3455 to go

You shouldn't have to play with the feed line to make it work.I think BNR is trying to get out of fixing it for free.
