Decided to go by the Mazda dealership after work with my own 95 RX7 and there was another owner with a titanium grey RX8 and a whole crowd of people standing there admiring it. The funny part is that the crowd shifted over to my FD as soon as I pulled up. I asked the owner if I could have a ride in the RX8 and he said that since I own an RX7 he'd let me drive it. Definitely not my RX7 but I was still impressed with the car in a conservative sort of way.

When I went to the dealer, I didn't even see the RX-8.. Of course this was at like 4:00 in the morning, but still.. I checked every where.. That **** really pissed me off.

I don't know if you have to be a certain age to drive one at the dealer. I drove the RX8 with its' owner in the vehicle. He did not know all the much about the rotary engine.

Doesn't surprise me. Most of the 8 owners are just people buying it to say that they're "unique" because they have a rotary. Albeit some out there are rotorheads and do or did own 7s, or previous RX models, but most of em out there are just jumping on the bandwagon. Sad really...

you hafta start somewhere...and i think its a good idea because if more people are buying it, then theres a greater chance of re-introducing the 7. and also theyll also have more funds to make the rotary even better than it is.
