Mine must've been weak. It got regular oil changes, premixed (omp removed), all filters clean. Maybe the previous owner(s) were bad at maintenance? I guess I'll find out when I get around to opening this engine up.

Mine sees regular maint. I havent removed my omp yet. Is it a good idea to add premix with it still attached? Dan

Removing the MOP is easy if you want to do it up.

Four set screws available at a fastener store for a few bucks to plug the block and intake manifold holes, and a block off plate for the front cover. If you have the front cover off you can remove the pump completely, but it requires another set screw so oil pressure doesn't **** out one of the cover galleries. No harm in blocking off the output drive of the pump.

4 stroke oil wasn't designed to be part of the combustion process, which results in all that carbon inside. You can't market a car that needs two stroke in the gas every fill up, so as long as you can remember to do it, I would make the move to premix.

You won't hurt anything by adding premix to a MOP equipped motor, but for what it takes to drop it off in the nearest dumpster, I'd consider it.

seems like the fc's run to about 220kish, and then something goes, at that point the oil and water seals are so weak, anything can kill em.

Do I need to pull the manifold off to get to the oil injectors to plug them?
