I like the copper/ceramic 6-puck sprung XTD setup.

It's bolted to an ACT light steel flywheel.

Plenty of grip (more than the tires).

The pedal feel is surprisingly light for the high clamp force.

Easy on the hydraulics, T/O bearing, and your leg.

In slow traffic starts, I have it fully engaged before 2K, nice & smooth.

If you catch it before it's completely gone, you can often just replace the disc.

im spending over $15-20k easily at the moment on the car, i figure the whole kit wouldnt hurt much more.

I envy your budget.

The light flywheel with the XTD clutch package is a great balance of performance, driveability & fun.

(Now - If I could just hit 3rd more reliably.)

gd has an re amemyia twin disc, its like stock, except its octagonal so it makes lots of noise, you cant hear the exhaust over the clutch

I was running an ACT 6 puck + HD pressure plate .. it was on the car for about 8000kms .. I wasn't very easy on it.. abused it on the strip quite a bit, drove it in daily traffic, did a few clutch drops.. at this point in time I was dynoing at 372rwhp and 302 ft/lb torque.. The clutch never slipped on me...

once we had my motor out at the beinging of the year to rebuild, I found that the clutch had eaten my flywheel and pressure plate apart.. not much disc material left either.. Someone mentioned replacing the act clutch once a year... I can belive it..

I decided to cheap out and try out the ebay XTD clutch.. it was cheap as hell, and since I havn't heard too many reviews on it, I figured what the hell.. if it doesn't hold it, I can replace it and not be out too much money..

The clutch pedal feel is definitly lighter than the act HD plate.. in fact, some might even say it's lighter than the stock plate.. I didn't mind this, since it made driving with the clutch alot easier.. in fact, this clutch doesn't feel much diffrent when compared to a stock system.. .

So how does it hold up? I've now got about 1300km's on both the motor and the clutch.. I had it out for a track day the other day and ran it pretty hard.. needed to see if the motor was going to hold up .. Anyways, the clutch will definitely not hold up to a hard launch.. any sort of hard drag type launch would result in the clutch slipping.. however, runnign on the track, it held up jsut fine... so long as I was easy off the launch, the clutch would never slip, even when powering through the corners and getting on boost hard to redline..

Powerwise, I am probably a bit closer to 400rwhp, and maybe up a slight bit in torque.. i can't confirm this till I get back on the dyno.. however, I'm sure the ACT setup would have been able to handle a hard launch, where the XTD jsut will not..

I think I'll keep running the XTD though, for as long as I can..It just means that I'm going to have to shift my focus from the drags, to the road course for this year...

She's slipping on hard launches? WOW you must be making some serious power or the PP clamp force is too weak. I haven't had much trouble witht he SPEC unit yet. It's definitly very nicely made. I'm still in the break-in process and will update after a track day in august.

So ~400HP is a bit too much for the XTD clutch.

With my ~240HP it holds fine.

I've done a few 5K launches with the clutch feathered.

Then when I release it about 20 ft out, the tires still spin.

I rarely do it, just for a green light drag, to get across the crosswalk paint stripes.
