me and my ex ol lady did a honda motor swap on her pos civic once. with the new engine in the idle wouldnt go below 2500-2000 ish. I drank a beer (budweiser bottle), unplugged the BAC valve while it was running and plugged it back in and it kicked it right down. never had a problem since.
couldnt guarantee a fix here, but it only takes you... what 2 seconds to try?

Make sure the throttle is going all the way closed. Fix any vacuum leaks. Check operation of Idle Air Control valve.
You don't say how long you've had the car. What do you know of its history? How well does it run off idle?
