Okay, i go to turn on my car and i turn on the key and i hear one crank and then everything dies. There is no power in the car at all. No lights, stereo, dome lights. The car is dead. I go and get the quick jump and hook it up thinking its the battery and the car does a single chunk then dies again. I checked the battery's voltage and its at 14. I've only checked the fuses under the hood and they are all good. One thing that is weird is that when i connected the volt meter to the + terminal and to the frame i didn't get a reading. It is like the master ground isn't connected or something. Does anyone know what might be wrong? also does anyone know if and where there might be a master ground that could have come loose? any help would be appreciated. (side note) at least this time my car broke down at my house and not somewhere else. Thats a plus. Thanks all.

Fusable link. Mine did this to me and it took a couple of hours, two packs of smokes, and one big *** headache to find it.

The one that went bad on mine is inbetween the battery and the starter, it is imbeded in the harness and very hard to spot. It took us pulling on wires before we could see where it was, which is where the wire went in two pecies.

i've checked continuity and the connection that is on the starter to the + battery wire is unreliable. The meter will only pick it up for a split second then it goes away. I'm thinking that the connection in between there is bad. What do you guys think? Also, i still can't find this fusable link? My dad told me that it is a buldge in the wires but i'm not seeing it. All of my wires are grouped together. Will i need to seperate them all to find it? Thanks.

it works now. I cleaned the connections and for some reason it works now. I don't know why but it does.
