Mystery Switch
#1
i discovered a switch that sits in front of my fuse box a while back and have been trying to figure out what is goes to ever since, i have no clue as to what it may control, nor can i figure out what it is wired to or supposed to be wired to
it makes no difference if it is fliped up or down far as i can tell//
i have a starter kill on my car, but it is keyed, and no serious stereo equipment to speak of, or an electric fan installed
i was hoping some of you guys might have an idea as to what it might be, im pretty sure that it did not come stock on the car as i have not seen it on any other s5's, if it isnt wired to anything and there are just wires running off into the abyss for no reason i have something i could wire it to, just wanting a secont opinion before i start in on it
thanks

I had a mystery switch on my car, too. Turns out some guy put it in there to control the power antenna.
Oh yeah, he also installed a clutch start cancel switch. Maybe that's what your mystery switch is. switch it off and try to start the engine w/o using the clutch. (be sure it's in neutral)

I mounted a fuel pump cut off switch for someone in that same spot
it could be for anything- lights that arent there anymore
amp or antennea wiring- alot of people couldnt figure out how to get the antennea to work right back in the day and installed a switch for it, cut off switch for a alarm, either ignition or a master cut off incase the alarm wasnt working right.

[quote name='fc3s4utnv' date='Apr 15 2005, 03:39 PM']That looks to be a valet switch for the remote starter part of a car alarm, I have the same thing but mine is mounted in the change holder in the console.
