I did the atf trick just like I read in the how to section. My car smoked a little before and I thought this would help. I Ran it just as I was told let it burn off and then took it down the interstate I got back home to finish cleaning everything up and decided I would let the car run so it would burn off anything else. But after a quick rough Idle my car died and has remained in its sleepy state can anyone tell me what I could have done . And yes I replaced the plugs. Noticed that the car was running better during driving though before tis happened.I checked the plugs again I even check the wires to make sure I was getting spark. I need help. Please don't let my baby die.

You only put the ATF in the plugs right? Did you mess with anything while you were cleaning it? It cranks and doesnt start or it doesnt crank over at all? If it cranks over- is it really fast like it has no compression or is it normal? I would disable the fuel pump and try turning it over being carefull not to overheat the starter, and if it starts to turn over normall, plug the fuel pump back in.

things i would check over plug wire order see if you dont have you leading plugs and your trailing plugs mixed up leading is on the bottom trailing is on the top

go over you vaccum lines check on your coils to see if any wires are loose then toghten them as needed

is your afm plugged in its the metal thing under the air filter i doubt it would be that cuz they dont run very good with it disconnected check your tube going up to the throttle body the big one all of the hoses coming off that tube should be plugged ive heard that rotaries will run and idle on one rotor im having major difficulties with my rx if that doesnt help i dont know .make sure the o2 sensor that is in the exhaust manifold is hooked up mine ran alot better wioth one on it can be bought at any auto parts store fore around thirty and while your there you should buy some extra plugs to put into your glove box in case you flood it. oh does it sound like the idle is too low on top of your throttle body there is a little screw screw it to the right to turn it up nothing will change for about 20 secs

Happy rotoring please check out my post im 86 gxl hope i could help

Did you replace the plugs before or after you ran it again, if you did it before then the plugs are fouled and you have to get new ones, and plus it might have gotten fooled out to at the same time because of the plugs.

Okay I got the car started after letting it sit for a few hours. but now my oil light is on . oil pressure seems fine. s far as leading and trailing plug wires I understand the leading are on the bottom and the trilng are on top but as far as the coil and igniters do they each have a leading and trailng wire that comes off or is the front coil leading and the rear coil trailing?

Also I did what I was told and bought new plugs but why do you have to can't you just clean them?please let me know the mysteries of the universe my car is an 86gxl also I have a couple of secondds of video footage of what came out of my exhaust during the ATF burnoff stage how do I get those on the board for others to see?
