Where are the other posts? Links?

Can you get the car to run but it just doesn't idle? Or you just can't get it to start. If it is catching but just dying I bet there is a big intake leak that is hiding. Sometimes they like to hide.

Sorry, don't know anyone in Ohio.

Well, I'm in Ohio, but don't have any hands on knowledge of 7's just what I've picked up here and a few other places.

Get a vacuum guage, good multi meter, coolant pressure tester, compression tester, download the FSM and start checking every line and sensor in the engine bay... then you two can rip apart the engine together and learn some things about it.

FSM = factory service manual

download your copy here: http://www.fc3s.org/how_tos/manuals/88_fsm.html

if you have an s5, then click on the "how to" button and go under manuals and "89-91" section

also, buy a haynes manual, it's just as useful.
