hey guys, i just got my car back together and now it wont stay running i got the TB mod done, removed teh rats nest, 720cc secondary injectors, rtek 1.7, and put a cone filter on.



the car will start up but dies imediatly. i push the throttle to try and keep it alive and nothing happens, it just continues to die! it kinda sounds like a huge vac. leak to me, but i pulled it apart 3 times this past week and checked over everything! i have an SAFC too, but i disabled it cause i thought that was the problem when it wouldnt start at all(but i just needed plugs lol) i still have it conected in reading TP and RPM though and i get a TP signal so thats good. could there be anything else electronic that would me making it not run?? or do i have to go over everything again and find a vaccum leak??

 

I your AFM plugged it, I remember when i put my CAI on i forgot to plug my afm back in and I was stumped for like a day, till I realised it was unplugged andi slaped my self for being a dumbass, also check for vac leaks.

 

no that has been pluged in! i pluged it in before i put the maf on the hose!



but my buddy came over last night to show me his Z (he just got a kit for it) and he asked me to try and start it, and when i did he told me he saw some smoke coming out of the turbo (hes not that bright though) so i had him turn it over and yeah, theres smoke coming out, not from the turbo, but over there somewhere.............ill have to look at it next chance i get!! lol

 

ok, i am lost here! i know there isnt a leak big enough to cause this! but i reviewed the situation (used myvideo camera lol) and it looks like the smoke is coming from the exhaust manifold............would that cause the car to start but not run??

 

i'd fix it and then go from there.. i dont think it would stop it from running completely by itself, but it's more then likely contributeing at least a little

 

fix what though?? thats what im trying to get at lol, are u saying fix the exhaust leak??? of thats what ur saying then yeah, i plan on doing that this week! i hope i dont have to take the uim and lim off to do it...............lol
