well let me sum up my feelings too. i worked at new car dealerships for 5 years, and anything newer than about 93-94, if it breaks will need a tow truck. i have never seen an rx7 need a tow truck, unless it was run off a cliff, or something. the rotary car will ALWAYS get you home, the modern car will just stop where it is, not to mention the check engine lights, and the stupid "chipped" keys, the 97 airbags....

I won't get the S, that kind of defeats the purpose LOL she needs the gas milage with the miles she drives each day so the 37 as opposed to 28 or whatever the S is, is a huge difference. Keep in mind I am going to be driving my 10th AE is my summer ride and my Jeep is my winter ride.

could it be a bad water pump?? the one in my moms van made a weird noise like if the engine broke. but thats when the ac had been on for a while. also, the exhaust hitting something. it could be one of them annoying metal pieces in the front or under the engine. My 85, had a nasty noise when i hit a bump, but not all times. it was a loose "brake vent duct", or whatever its called. tightened that sucker up and the noise is gone.
and check the driveshafts just to be on the safe side.

Bah, all it takes is for a hose to blow off a RX-7 and you aint driving that thing home unless you want to overheat it, it would be different if she put 20 miles a week, she puts 200 miles a week.
I personally dont care if I have to sit on the side of the road and figure out how Im going to get my car home, but Ill be dammed if my girl will. My GFs car has almost 40,000 miles on it, and it hasnt been to the dealer yet, the check engine light did come on last week, so its going to the dealer, the car is running like it always has and I had my friend read the computer and it comes up some odd ******* thing I dont even remember, so next week we drop it off and it gets fixed, loaner car provided and all. Especially when you live in a area where it gets cold, it was 17 degrees last night, who wants to be stuck outside in that cold?
