i think you eliminate the front cover gasket not because it leaks, but so you can get more crush on the front cover o ring, which is more failure prone than it should be

well i finally got around to getting it all back together, with the motor in the car, even left the radiator and radiator shroud in while doing this whole process.

I used some VW/Audi White Silicone that they use for "oil sump sealing" its like regular black silicone but very tacky as soon as it is applied, not as "wet" feeling.

Anyway blocked off the OMP, resealed the front cover and that part of the oil pan, swapped in my p/s pump from my t2 because the one thatw as in the car was shot. Everything there turned out rather good no more leaks etc.

While i was at it i decided to remove the rats nest and hoses associated with it, next up i think im going to do the TB mod, or try to swap in my old t2's TB, not sure if that will work tho (its an s5, so i doubt it will work).

Gotta fix some vacuum leaks and then everything should be great.

I crossed my fingers when i cranked it (after of course adding in some premix) but everything seems to have worked out great.

$500 cars arent half bad, now if only banzai's diff would arrive already.

kevin.
