does the fd flywheel use the same pressure plate as a s5?
The S5 TII clutch and pressure plate will work with the FD flywheel.

I suppose a 12 lbs flywheel is reasonable. The reduced driveability can be a bitch but at times I love it.

I had a 9.5 pound flywheel, and I liked the way the car drove. The acceleration in the lower gears felt a little better. It wasn't too tricky to drive with the light flywheel.

It seemed to help the turbo spool a little faster. If I were you I would stick with the 12 lb. Racing Beat flywheel. I had the 9.5 lb. SR Motorsports flywheel, and they suddenly decided to change their flywheel, meaning that I can't get a new friction surface. It probably CAN be found, but they won't tell you. They just say that you need to buy a new flywheel. You won't ever run into that situation with Racing Beat.

Drove my TII for a year with a 9.5# flywheel. I never had any drivability issues with it. In fact I had a better 60' time w/ the 9.5# flywheel then I do now with a stock FD flywheel.

I loved the way my car would wind out 1st and 2nd when I was autocrossing. It is a very worthwhile mod. I want another 9.5# for my car now.

also if you acceltorate in first or second, and then let off the gas (with it still in gear) you can get a bucking motion in the car which realy makes it tough to cruise in
